Generali Investments CEE donated financial support to the Senior Support Fund

Generali Investments CEE cannot remain indifferent to the situation caused by the spread of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus. For this reason, we have decided to support a good causeand give an initial donation to the Senior Support Fund, said Chairman of the Board and General Director of Generali Investments CEE Josef Beneš.

Thanks to the donation of Generali Investments CEE, Výbor dobré vůle - Nadace Olgy Havlové (The Goodwill Committee – The Olga Havlová Foundation) was able to establish the Senior Support Fund. The programme aims to support outreach  especially focused on seniors, so that they do not stay isolated without food, medicines and medical aids.

Existence of the Senior Support Fund is restricted to the period of the emergency measures of the Czech Government. The fund will especially provide financial support to nursing services for seniors in a domestic setting, payment of nursing services, operation of a crisis hotline, purchase of nursing service aids, travel allowance for nursing services or purchase of protective and disinfectant agents. People may send donations via, for example, the website: https://www.darujme.cz/projekt/1202765#informace.

“We greatly appreciate this financial support. A key factor for effective help in this moment is speed. Thanks to the support, the funds will be able to start flowing to non-profit organisations that ensure outreach work to seniors,” explained the Director of Výbor dobré vůle – Nadace Olgy Havlové Monika Granja.  She added, “In today’s extraordinary times, it is our moral duty to stand in solidarity with those who are impacted most painfully by the situation.”

In good times and bad times

Applications may be submitted by non-governmental, non-profit organisations that are registered non-profit organisations, institutes, associations, association branches or religious groups with legal personality. The maximum amount of allocated funds is CZK 100,000, and applications will be considered in an expedited grant process running once every 2 to 3 weeks.

“Companies such as Generali Investments CEE are not only on the market in good times, but also in times of crisis. And the bigger should help the smaller, the weaker the stronger. I greatly appreciate the interest of our employees and their families who have shown an interest in becoming part of this volunteer activity and want to help those who face everything alone,” added Chairman of the Board and General Director of Generali Investments CEE Josef Beneš.

Generali Investments CEE provides long-term financial support to partner organisations that help people with disabilities or socially disadvantaged groups and run various publicly beneficial activities. An example is our cooperation with Výbor dobré vůle - Nadace Olgy Havlové, but others include Nadace Leontinka, Dětské centrum Paprsek, Nadace Jakuba Voráčka and other foundations and organisations.
